Meet our Executive Pastry Chef
She first started making cakes at the tender age of six, when she was given an Easy-Bake Oven by her Aunt. "I guess it was middle child syndrome," she blushingly states. "Thriving for attention, My younger sister got attention by being so cute, while my older brother was simply the first born son. People noticed me when I made something sweet to eat!! That was my ah-hah moment" Alethea's interest in baking began as a way of getting noticed, but would soon develop into an artistic outlet.
For the past 30 years, South Florida has enjoyed the creations of Executive Pastry Chef, Alethea Hickman. At the beginning of her career, Alethea owned and operated a bakery in Margate for 13 years. She then went to work for The Boca Raton Resort and Club, The Breakers Hotel and St. Andrews Country Club. Without the demands of business ownership, Alethea would be able to perfect her craft.
After a long hiatus, Alethea went back as Business Owner and Executive Pastry Chef for herself in 2002.
In addition to Passion for Pastry earning its stellar “By Word of Mouth reputation; Alethea has been featured on the Food Network: Cake Challenge, and proudly holds the 2011 Guinness World Record for creating the World’s Largest Cupcake, tipping the scales at a whopping 1317 lbs!
Like all her creations, Alethea continues to wow her clients with all her artistically crafted baked goods. All workmanship is professionally executed by Alethea and her team of talented pastry chefs. Under the leadership of Alethea Hickman, each creation reflects impeccable attention to detail and design. It would be her passion that would lead to her ultimate success.
